Block 137
With respect and reverence to the long and storied history of grape growing in the region, a few of our vineyards still retain references to v. labrusca grapes, which have been grown in the Finger Lakes since 1829, when the Reverend William Bostwick first planted vines in his rectory garden in Hammondsport. The CBN Vineyard, or the Chardonnay Below the Niagara, is a select 2-acre block of Chardonnay, which has a reputation for harboring some of our lowest yielding vines. However, it has also produced some of our most highly concentrated and coveted fruit.
