1948
The home farm is purchased by James and Harriet Wagner.
1976
Governor Hugh Carey signs the Farm Winery Act, allowing small farm wineries to sell all their production at the winery, and drastically lowering licensing fees.
1977
The family shifts the emphasis of the farm to premium vinifera grapes. Our first Riesling, Gewürztraminer, and Chardonnay vines are planted on the Freese Farm.
1978
Mark Wagner joins Harriet in running the farm after James dies in a car accident.
1986
The Passmore Farm is purchased, which will become the site of Lamoreaux Landing’s landmark winery and tasting room.
1986
The Old Passmore Chardonnay Vineyard is planted.
1989
The New Passmore Chardonnay Vineyard is planted.
1990
Mark crafts Lamoreaux Landing’s first vintage.
1992
The winery opens to customers. Designed by California architect, Bruce Corson ( a native Ithacan), the building embraces the Greek Revival style so prevalent in the surrounding region.
1994
Lamoreaux Landing is recognized on a national level as a winery of distinction.
1994
Planting continues on the Freese Farm with 13 additional acres of Riesling added between 1994 and 1997.
1996
Construction of the northeast wing (the tank room) of the winery building is completed.
1999
The American Institute of Architects recognizes Lamoreaux Landing Wine Cellars as one of the most notable buildings built in New York State in the last 100 years.
2003
The Williams Farm is purchased allowing for the expansion of our Riesling Program.
2005
Construction of the southwest wing (reserve tasting room) is completed.
2005
Governor George Pataki visits Lamoreaux Landing Wine Cellars on Seneca Lake to sign a bill allowing wine shipment into and out of New York State directly to customers.
2005
The Passmore Cabernet Franc Vineyard is planted.
2006
The Red Oak Vineyard, consisting of 3 clones of Riesling, is established on the Williams Farm.
2007
Planting continues on the Williams Farm with the Round Rock Vineyard, a ten year project that will ultimately include 6 clones of Riesling and our first Grüner Veltliner vines.
2007
Josh Wig joins the business. After retiring from a career in the US Navy submarine force, Josh, the husband of Mark’s niece, decided to return to his farming roots and join the Lamoreaux Landing family.
2010
Lamoreaux Landing named to Wine & Spirits Top 100 Wineries of the World.
2011
Lamoreaux Landing named NY State Winery of the Year
2012
Lamoreaux Landing named to Wine & Spirits Top 100 Wineries of the World.
