Q: Briefly tell us about your journey to the Finger Lakes wine industry and to Lamoreaux Landing . A: I studied wine making in Marlborough, New Zealand when I first learned about the Finger Lakes region in Janice Robinson's World Atlas of Wine. When I graduated in 2002 I applied for the assistant winemaking position at Lamoreaux Landing, was hired and flew directly from New Zealand to New York for the position. I have been making wine in the Finger Lakes ever since, and returned to Lamoreaux Landing as the head winemaker in 2018.

Q: Why is your favorite variety of grape to work with and why? A: Chardonnay. It is the most challenging and the most rewarding.

Q: What is you favorite variety to drink? A: Cabernet Franc

Q: What is your favorite local restaurant and what is you favorite thing to eat there? A: Dano’s for their Celery Root Remoulade

Q: Where would you travel if you knew you would have to stay there for up to a year? A: Spain

Q: Name a song that always gets you on the dance floor. A: The chicken dance

Q: If you could use just one condiment for the rest of the year what would it be. A: Jalapeño Tabasco

Q: If you could choose any person from history to be your imaginary friend, who would it be and why? A: Jim Henson

Q: If you could bring back any fashion trend what would it be? A: Cargo shorts, they’re practical.
